Swept Away (“the App”) helps Jersey City, NJ residents avoid street-cleaning parking tickets by automatically detecting when your car is parked and scheduling reminders before street cleaning begins. All parking data is stored locally on your device. No account or login is required.

Data We Collect

Location Data
The App collects your precise GPS location in the background to detect parking and departure events. This data stays on your device and is never uploaded to any server except as described under Analytics below.

Motion & Activity Data
The App uses CMMotionActivity to detect transitions between driving and walking. This data is processed entirely on-device and is never stored or transmitted.

Analytics (Diagnostic)
To improve parking detection accuracy, the App sends anonymized diagnostic events to PostHog (servers in the United States at us.i.posthog.com). These events may include GPS coordinates, speed, Bluetooth audio signal presence, and motion confidence scores. This data is not linked to your identity — no name, email, or persistent device identifier is included.

No data is sold or shared with advertisers

Data Retention

Analytics events are retained by PostHog per their standard retention policy. Local app state (parked location, reminders) is stored only on your device and deleted when you uninstall the App.

Your Choices

You can revoke Location or Motion permissions at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security. If Location (Always) is revoked, the App will stop detecting parking automatically.
